Parental Consent

COPPA Compliance for Under-13 Classes

When Is Consent Required?

If your child's teacher has enabled COPPA mode for their class (indicated for students under 13), a parent or guardian must acknowledge consent before the student can join.

What You're Consenting To

Your child will receive a random nickname (pseudonym) and a secret token. They will log food, movement, and sleep activities. No personal information (name, email, date of birth) is collected or stored.

Your Rights

  • You can request deletion of your child's data at any time
  • Your child can opt out or delete their own data independently
  • Data is automatically deleted after the class retention period
  • No data is sold or shared with third parties

Important Legal Notice

This digital consent flow provides a basic acknowledgment mechanism. COPPA requires "verifiable parental consent," which may involve additional verification methods (signed forms, ID verification, etc.) depending on your jurisdiction and use case. Please consult legal counsel to ensure your consent process meets all applicable requirements.
